FARGO/GRAND FORKS — Sophomore Max Zenker had two hits and three RBIs to help lift West Fargo Sheyenne to the North Dakota Class A baseball state championship Saturday at Kraft Field in Grand Forks.
Tate Herrmann and Jordan Clemenson also added two hits each for Sheyenne, which led 5-0 through five innings against the Magicians. Herrmann also scored three runs.
No. 2-seeded Thompson scored a 10-7 victory against LaMoure-Litchville-Marion in the Class B title game at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo.
"It's just the best feeling ever," said Thompson senior Will Welke, who had three hits and two RBIs in the championship game.
The Tommies have won four consecutive state championships. They have knocked off LaMoure-Litchville-Marion in three of the title games during that stretch.
