Celebrity Big Brother's Chris Hughes 'drops out' of dating show as JoJo Siwa claims he’ll 'be around for very long time'
The former Love Island contestant finished sixth on the reality show
Celebrity Big Brother’s Chris Hughes has ‘dropped out’ of taking part in a dating show as JoJo Siwa claimed he’ll ‘be around for very long time’.
The former Love Island contestant and US pop singer formed an unlikely friendship on the ITV reality show, which was won by Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd.
Appearing alongside each other for the bulk of the season, the duo’s friendship began when he defended her after Mickey Rourke made comments about her sexuality, which he was given a formal warning for at the time.
From then, the pair were inseparable, often seen having late night chats in their beds as the other housemates attempted to get some sleep.
Now the series is finished, fans have been wondering if their close bond will continue with JoJo moving back to the United Stated after her breakup with Kath Ebbs.
It’s emerged that Chris will not be appearing on Channel 4's Celebs Go Dating, with The Mirror reporting ‘he’s taking some time to decompress’.
A spokesperson said in a statement: "Before entering Big Brother, Chris agreed to join the Celebs Go Dating agency and having his love life placed into the hands of the agents.
“However, after an incredible but very intense experience in Big Brother, he is taking some time to decompress."
Meanwhile, JoJo appeared at a Stanford Speakers Bureau event over the weekend, where she branded Chris ‘a vital part’ of her life that she ‘didn't realise was missing’.
She explained: “I'm happy that I don't have to anymore. Genuinely something I love about him so much is that he has zero ego.
“He's a really incredible, sweet man. So yeah, he is an awesome guy and I think he will be around for a very long time."
Telling the crowd to ‘grow up’ upon hearing them wolf whistling, JoJo joked not to let Chris ‘see this’ at it would ‘boost his ego’.
Calling Chris ‘a keeper’, JoJo added: “We'll keep him around, we'll see."
Shortly after leaving the Big Brother house, the pair appeared on This Morning and called themselves ‘soulmates’.
“Our friendship is, it's hard to explain. It's just a really strong bond. A strong friendship. You can have a soul mate friendship. I think that's a thing,” Chris said.
Asked if she wanted more than friendship, she told Ben Shephard: “Look, he's a great guy. It's platonic. We have a lot of fun together. I don't know the future, whatever life does, it will do."
