Celebrity Big Brother's Chris Hughes breaks silence on Celebs Go Dating rumours

Chris Hughes has been rumoured to have signed up for the new series of Celebs Go Dating, but the TV star has since addressed the speculation

Rumours are swirling that Chris Hughes, fresh from his Celebrity Big Brother stint, could join the cast of E4's Celebs Go Dating after an unexpected dropout.

The 31-year-old star, who shot to fame on ITV2's Love Island, was reportedly in talks to replace Christine McGuinness when she pulled out at the last minute from the E4 reality show.

Nevertheless, Chris has put an end to such rumours, casting aside the gossip unequivocally with a simple "nope" when questioned by a fan on social media about his involvement in the upcoming series.

Despite apparent interest from television chiefs who wanted him on board for the dating series, reports suggest he turned down the proposal.

The decision comes as Chris believes that Celebs Go Dating doesn't quite fit his current path, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Christine had begun filming in Ibiza for the E4 show but ultimately concluded it wasn’t the right juncture for her to engage in the series amidst her separation from husband Paddy McGuinness, reports OK!.

Christine has released a statement saying: "I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me.

"They've said the door is always open for me, which I'm so grateful for, but for now I'm returning home to my family."

In other news, a representative for Celebs Go Dating commented: "We have loved having Christine on the show and completely respect her feelings and decision to return home and have told her that the door is always open for her in the future at the agency."
